A GEORGE II SIENA, JASPER AND STATUARY MARBLE CHIMNEYPIECE, attributed to Sir Henry Cheere Bt., the breakfront shelf with ogee moulded edge above foliate and egg-and-dart bands, the conjoined Ionic columns supporting the entablature embellished with a flower head to each end, centred by a projecting bas-relief carved tablet of a pastoral scene depicting a shepherd standing amongst his flock with a cow, whilst a woman and child stand to his left with a playful dog at their feet, the background with the setting sun and shepherds herding their flock into a pen, and flanked to each side by Jasper spar panels, the hearth moulding carved with egg-and-dart, circa 1755 79½in.
