A GEORGE II RED LACQUER STRIKING BRACKET CLOCK John Faver London the case now redecorated with red lacquer with raised gilt chinoiserie figures, brass handle to the inverted bell top, glazed sides and on brass bracket feet, the dial signed John Faver London on an oval sector in the matted centre with mock pendulum and calendar apertures, brass chapter ring with pierced blued hands, Indian mask-and-scroll spandrels, strike/silent ring in the arch, the five ringed pillar movement with twin fusees (wire lines) knife-edge verge escapement, pull quarter repeat on six bells with hour strike on further bell, pendulum holdfast to the foliate engraved backplate with wheatear border engraving and movement securing brackets to the case 15in.
