A GEORGE II MAHOGANY STRIKING EIGHT DAY LONGCASE CLOCK WITH YEAR CALENDAR AND EQUATION OF TIME DANIEL DELANDER LONDON. CIRCA 1730 The flat top hood with inset columns and rectangular glazed side panels, convex throat mouldings above the rectangular trunk door, the 12 in. wide brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with diamond half hour and half quarter hour markers and signed 'DAN: DELANDER LONDON', subsidiary seconds and date square to the matted centre, the arch with devil mask and foliate spandrels flanking year calendar and equation of time sector above silvered plaque inscribed 'Tabula/Equa/tio/nis', later blued steel hands, the movement with five latched and ring-turned pillars, restored bolt and shutter maintaining power, replaced anchor escapement and internal rack strike on bell; pendulum, two weights, winding key, two case keys 88½ in. (225 cm.) high; 18½ in. (47 cm.) wide; 10¼ in (26 cm.) deep
