A FRENCH ORMOLU-MOUNTED BOIS SATINE AND JAPANESE LACQUER CABINET-ON-STAND BY MAISON KRIÉGER, PARIS, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY The rectangular Fleur de pêcher marble top above a scrolled vine frieze with fauns and musical attributes, centred by a female mask flanked by sphinxes, above three cupboard doors decorated with figures within a mountainous landscape, enclosing a single shelf, the angles headed by basket-bearing female terms, the lower half with a conformingly-decorated frieze drawer on tapering brass-inlaid fluted supports joined by a platform, on sprially-fluted feet with brass caps, the lockplate signed 'M o n Krieger/AMEUBLEMENT/PARIS' and stencilled to the reverse 'KRIEGER PARIS/FAUBOURG ST. ANTOINE' 64½ in. (164 cm.) high; 50¾ in. (129 cm.) wide; 18 in. (46 cm.) deep
