A French engraved brass multi-barrel year-duration striking skeleton clock with full calendar, moonphase and equation of time Achille Brocot, No.6145. Circa 1880 The front plate profusely engraved with foliate scrolls against a hatched ground, the frame mounted on a plush-lined ebonised base, white enamel Roman dial with regulation at XII, recessed centre with visible Brocot escapement, polished steel hands, the painted enamel calendar dial below with subsidiary dials for day of week, month with sign of zodiac (both dials with English indications) and date, the centre painted with clouds and stars, signed ACHILLE BROCOT , penny moonphase, with solar hand indicating Mean Time At Noon on a calibrated arch above, with winding arbors to each side for sixteen tandem spring barrels (eight to each side), geared to the going and strike train barrels above, strike on bell, with lever to calendar work below with calibrated countwheel for four year cycle, both movements and the rear plate each stamped AB within a star and numbered 6145 ; the steel rod pendulum with flattened brass lenticular bob 45.5cm. high
