A French biscuit porcelain lamp Print Late 19th / early 20th century, inscribed ''Canova'', modeled after ''L'etude'' designed by Simon Louis Boizot (1743 - 1809 French), depicting a seated female figure reading atop an oil lamp, mounted with a gilt metal socket surmounted by a gilt flambeau finial on an oval base, previously electrified, 15'' H x 12.5'' W x 5.25'' D, Provenance: Private Collection, La Jolla, CA. Condition: Overall good condition. With general marks, scratches and rubbing commensurate with age. Lacking foliate margents to socket. Socket and finial detached from mount. Fleabite chip to edge of porcelain base. Floral swags on base have been shortened to accommodate on/off switch. Base with a gilt rosette covering hole for cord.
