A French Chinoiserie Style Gilt-Bronze and Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Mounted Rosewood Cabinet, the cabinet with two large doors set with porcelain plaques depicting stylized flowers and Chinese Daoist Immortal figures, opening to two shelves and raised on curved feet, the front with elephant head cast mounts, Paris c. 1895, most porcelain plaques c. 1865-1870, height c. 203 cm, width c. 173 cm, depth c. 50 cm; one ring pull later, minor repairs and damages Compare with a similar cabinet sold at Sotheby's, ཏth century Furniture, Sculpture, Ceramics, Silver and Works of Art', New York 22 October 2008, lot 101. PROVENANCE: From an European private collection, purchased in Paris during 1920's Changes The four large ceramic plaques possibly European. Please note, the plaques are the same type, as on the cabinet sold at Sotheby's 2008
