A FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL BY LEWIS BARBAR; AND A FLINTLOCK LONG TURN-OFF PISTOL SIGNED PEELE THE FIRST CIRCA 1720-30; THE SECOND CIRCA 1730 The first reconverted from percussion, with lightly swamped barrel formed in three stages, the breech with maker's stamp and signature (rubbed), engraved with scrolls and signed 'L. Barber' (sic.), full stock, and full gilt-brass mounts cast in low relief, including spurred pommel with demon mask cap, and pierced side-plate involving a monster, London proof marks; the second with turn-off barrel with moulded muzzle and engraved breech, signed engraved lock, walnut half-stock, and brass mounts, Birmingham proof marks 15 7/8in (40.3cm) and 185/8in (47.3cm) (2)
