A FIVE-PIECE PARCEL-GILT SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE ON SILVER-PLATED MIRROR PLATEAU Maker's mark of Gorham Mfg. circa 1874, no number Comprising teapot, coffee pot, two-handled covered sugar bowl, cream jug and two-handled waste bowl, each with frosted finish, with parcel gilding to applied decorated bands, of baluster form on spreading base, the base with foliate bands between greek-key borders, one side engraved 1850 MAY 9TH 1875 , the other side monogrammed, the cylindrical neck with cherub flanked by pegasus, bowed band below, the pots with part-decorated highly up-turned spout, with bellflower sided scroll-shaped handle, the hinged domed cover topped by pointed ovoid finial-- the coffee pot 11¼in. (28.5cm.) high, gross weight 130.5oz. , the oval plateau with die rolled foliate swag sides, on four paterae applied bracket supports, with wood underside, the mirror etched with conforming monogram-- 24½in. (62.2cm.) long (6)
