A FINE LATE HELLENISTIC GOLD AND GLASS EARRING ORNAMENT IN THE FORM OF A CROWN OF ISIS, the 'sun disk' represented by a translucent blue stone inlay and the 'feathers' by two tapering banded opaque black and white glass inlays, with two gold 'cow's horns' at the sides, decorated with glass beads and granulated borders, a suspension ring below with five gold loop-in-loop chain tassels (almost certainly belonging to the original earring), each terminating in a glass or hardstone bead, three with filigree rosette caps, the earring adapted in recent times into a brooch pin, late 2nd-1st Century B.C. 4in.
