A FINE GERMAN SILVER-GILT STANDING CUP AND COVER MARK OF GEORG LANG AUGSBURG, 1615-1620 The flaring cylindrical cup above vase-form stem with cherub's masks and applied beaded-scroll brackets, on tiered circular foot, the domed cover with figural finial on spool-form socle applied with similar brackets, the cover, cup, and foot repoussé and chased with fruit and foliage within strapwork against a matted ground, the cover with tongue-and-dart border, the cup engraved near rim with an English Baron's coat-of-arms and coronet, the foot with faint scratch-engraved name, marked on rim of cup and on foot 18¾ in. (47.5 cm.) high; 36 oz. (1121 gr.)
