A fine German parcel-gilt and nielloed tankard Cornelius Poppe, Augsburg, 1695-1700 On three ball and claw feet, the cylindrical body finely nielloed with a bridge, a house with sailingboat and a house in landscape, each amongst scrolling foliage and bunches of flowers, the scroll handle covered with foliage, the low domed and flat hinged cover centred by a classical ruin with columns and three oval medallions each with houses in landscapes, scrolling foliage bands, reeded ball thumbpiece, marked on base 22.4 cm. high 1178 gr.
