A fine early 19th Century boxwood French Prisoner of War model of an 88 gun Ship of the Line with bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging and deck details including carved warrior figurehead, hair rails, catheads, capstan, hammock nettings, deck rails, companionways, ballustrading, upper deck guns and other details. The hull, mounted to the waterline in a seascape painted decorated stand (later) is finished in pink, black and white with painted decorated stern and quarter galleries (restored) -- 5¼ x 6in.
