J.G. Aerts a Tongres Brevete, No 21. The giltwood and gesso frame with elaborate interlinked scrolls framing the mahogany veneered interior, a gilt brass anthemion-cast bezel framing the painted 8.5 inch dial signed and numbered in an arc below the concentric minute band with subsidiary dials for running seconds and Roman hours, each with good blued steel arrow-shaped hands, the weight driven movement with small deadbeat 'scape wheel and polished steel pallets visible in the centre of the seconds ring, to a massive bimetallic pendulum consisting of four steel and two brass rods pivoted on two points above the movement, set at it's mid-point with a subsidiary dial with rack adjustment marked 1-25 and below this, with micrometer rating nuts, terminating in a 14 inch lenticular brass bob set with a twelve-petalled flowerhead, the shaped lead weight carried via a pulley down the back of the case. 1.75m (5ft 9ins) high.
