(A) ETCHED PANEL COLT MODEL 1877 THUNDERER DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER (1882).

Model 1877 Thunderer double action revolver manufactured by Colt in 1882. Left side of barrel reads "COLT D.A. 41" within an etched panel, with the top of the barrel bearing Colt's 2 line address. Left side of frame bears patent information. Features include a nickel finish, 3 - 1/2" barrel, half moon front sight, notched rear, sight, and 2-piece Colt hard rubber grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, butt, and cylinder. Factory letter indicates shipment as a 3 - 1/2" nickel gun in .41 Colt and sent to Hartley and Graham, New York, New York, in a shipment of 50 sent July 25th, 1882. CONDITION: Nickel finish shows flaking and areas of wear all around, with worn areas showing through to gray patina and some spots of oxidation. Bore shows some oxidation and retains fair to good rifling throughout. Hard rubber grips show heavy smoothing and some scattered handling marks, with the left grip panel bearing a sizable crack.
