A Dutch Delft blue and white syrup jar and a pair of Brussels faience blue and white syrup jars THE DELFT LATE 17TH CENTURY, THE BRUSSELS FIRST HALF 18TH CENTURY The Delft with the peacock motif inscribed S DIAMOR (probably Morsus Diaboli, syrup made of Devil's-bit), 23.5 cm. high, the pair with shaped cartouche inscribed S SYMPHYTIFER (probably syrup of common comfrey) and S ARANTIORUM (syrup of oranges) and surmounted by mirroring birds, flanked by carnations and above a sun and a bird, with flower garlands, 21.8 cm. high, with strap handles, overall with restorations (3)
