This is an example of a typical 1890's US rebuild of the standard Cavalry Model where as the parts show mixed numbers while the grips and cylinder have the "RAC" inspector stamps. The frame is David Clark inspected, dating it to 1884-85. Indian Wars period. The trigger guard is number 120817. The backstrap is number 133105 with "K" stamp. The grips have "RAC" stamp on base and the same "RAC" stamp with number 526 on cylinder. The barrel is a "DFC" inspected No. 2582. The frame is stamped "US" on left side of frame with three line patent date. The finish is blue and case with one piece walnut grips. CONDITION: This example has been nicely refinished. The cylinder and barrel retain at least 90% reapplied commercial type blue finish with sharp legends. The case colors lack any real color but show good pattern. The refinished grips are a bit shy. The action is as smooth as butter and lock up is tight. Bore is strong. Nice example of a Colt Single Action Army Artillery Model. The factory letter simply states that that frame number 113592 was part of 150 Colts sent to US Government on December 24th, 1884. DB Name Value Accessories Barrel Length 5 - 1/2" Caliber/Bore .45 Long Colt FFL Status Antique Manufacturer Colt Model SAA Paperwork Factory Letter Serial Number 113592
