Beschreibung:

This revolver was shipped in 1884 and is an etched panel .44-40, blue and case colored. Matching numbers on barrel, cylinder, frame, trigger guard and grip strap. Sports a nice pair of two piece walnut grips. When the ejector rod housing was removed, stamped over 2679, is the number 3-01. Two line Colt patent dates on left side of frame. Left side of the barrel has a later First Generation stamp that reads "Colt Frontier Six Shooter .44-40". It would appear this revolver was sent back to Colt in March 2001 where the gun was completely factory refinished to near new condition. Colt replaced the proper one piece grips with two piece walnuts and re-roll died the left barrel legend in a more contemporary style. Had they simply used the acid etched panel and one piece walnut grips, it would be as original. Colt replaced the etched panel with the simple Colt Frontier Six Shooter die in 1889. Cylinder has light high edge wear and light drag line. There is light muzzle wear and wear to end of ejector rod housing. Cylinder serial number is faint but readable. The hammer and frame retain approximately 98% of the reapplied color. Barrel and ejector rod housing retains approximately 98% reapplied color. Cylinder is about 95%. Grips are excellent. Trigger guard and backstrap retain virtually all of the restored blue finish. Four perfect Colt clicks. Locks up tight. Beautifully blued screws. Strong rifled bore and perfect action. A proper restoration would have the acid etched panel and the one piece walnut grips. Gun remains in 98% overall factory reconditioned finish. Name Value Manufacturer Colt Model Single Action Army Serial Number 102679 Caliber .44-40 Barrel Length 7 - 1/2" FFL Status Antique
