Manufactured in 1886. This is the first successful double action that Colt manufactured, with a run of just 166,849 guns being manufactured from 1877 through 1909. Two line address on top of the barrel and an etched panel on the left of the barrel. Three line patent date on the left front of the receiver. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, and the back of the cylinder. The 2 piece hard rubber grips also have the serial number on them in pencil. CONDITION: The action works in both single and double action. The action locks up tight and indexes fine. Gun retains 90% of the original factory nickel plating. Niter blue on the hammer and trigger is about 90%. Bright and shiny bore with strong lands and grooves. Grips show some slight wear.
