A CHRISTIAN IX OF DENMARK PRESENTATION BONBONNIERE CIRCA 1906, SIGNED 'LIDAHL' Circular gilt-brass presentation box, the independent cover centred with frosted medallion depicting the king in profile to the right and inscribed 'CHRISTIAN IX KONGE AF DANMARK', signed 'LINDAHL' below neck, within guilloché border and outer border decorated with anthemion, the interior cover engraved 'Presented to Charles Robert, Viscount Althorp, by Queen Alexandra, 1906.', the base with central medallion with an allegorical scene representing the liberty of Denmark and inscribed above 'TIL MINDE DEN PRIVILLIGE SELVBESKAT NING TIL FARDRELANDETS FORSVAR 1885-1891', further inscription below, 'MAND OG KVINDE, DRENC OG PIGE GAV SIN SKJARRV TIL DANMARKS RIGE.', similarly decorated borders and engine-turned sides 2 7/8in. (73mm.) diam.
