NOTE: The service form which these dishes come were photographed in situ in Country Life, July 14 1988, figure 8, it has been suggested the service from which these dishes come was brought back from China by Richard Wood who was a supercargo in the East India Company and a member of the Council at Canton in 1756 and 1760. H: 4 3/4, Dia: 11 1/2 in. Provenance: Probably made for John Wood of Copmanthorpe and Hollin Hall. Inherited by Richard Wood 1778.
