A Cased 25-Bore Flintlock D.B. Travelling Pistol With Spring Bayonet, And A Pair of 50-Bore Flintlock Box-Lock Pocket Pistols Signed H. Nock, London, Early 19th CenturyThe first reconverted from percussion, with rebrowned twist barrels signed 'London' on the rib and with folding bayonet above, border engraved breeches each with gold line, border engraved tang with bayonet-catch, signed border engraved flat bevelled locks, each with engraved safety-catch and roller, figured half-stock with chequered rounded butt, the side flats left plain, border engraved steel mounts comprising rounded pommel-cap decorated with a flower-head centred on the retaining screw, trigger-guard with large pineapple finial and a foliated trophy on the bow, rear ramrod-pipe with pineapple finial, shield-shaped vacant silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, and brass-tipped ramrod, Tower private proof marks; the second each with turn-off barrel, action signed within ovals against martial trophies over each side, thumbpiece safety-catch, trigger-guard engraved with a star, and figured flat-sided butt (old rust patination), Birmingham proof marks: in relined and refitted mahogany case with accessories including brass-mounted powder-flasks each with red leather-covered body, the interior of the lid with an original Henry Nock illustrated trade label (damaged), the exterior with brass mount incorporating a flush-fitting brass carrying handle 25.3 cm. and 4.4 cm. barrels
