With rebrowned twist sighted barrel engraved along the top flat 'Gun-Maker To His Majesty, London' and with foliate terminal, case-hardened breech with pierced platinum plug, case-hardened foliate engraved tang and signed border engraved flat lock, hammer en suite, the internal working parts with nearly all their original burnished finish, highly figured half-stock (minor bruising) with chequered grip, border engraved blued steel mounts comprising butt-plate with foliage and a line of guilloche on the heel tang, and D-shaped trigger-guard with foliage on the bow, case-hardened trigger-plate with pineapple finial, silver fore-end cap, original brass-mounted ramrod, and much of its original finish (some loss of finish on the butt-plate and trigger-guard): in original mahogany case (keyhole escutcheon missing) fitted and lined in blued velvet with some accessories including James Dixon shot-flask, five shot-chargers, mainspring clamp, combination tool and wad cutter, the interior of the lid with maker's trade label, the exterior with flush-fitting brass carrying handle centred on a circular vacant brass escutcheon, London proof marks 79.5 cm. barrel
