A carved giltwood wall mirror, in George III style, 19th century, 77cm high, 119cm wide Provenance: Property from a Private Collection, Herefordshire Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Old splits and chips (see images). Some rubbing to gilt revealing underlying red bole preparation. Both Ho-ho birds with glued repairs to necks. The C-scroll and flowering basket to the lower right corner of the frame has been detached and glued back in position. One of the larger flowers to the upper edge of the frame has been detached and glued back in position. Mirror plates appear original. The have depletion, areas of bloom and losses.
