A BRONZE SALUTING CANNON SOUTHEAST ASIA, POSSIBLY SINGAPORE, MID-19TH CENTURY With tapering bronze five-stage barrel with turned muzzle, chase cast with a decorative band of scrollwork in front of the second reinforce ring, second reinforce with stylised dolphin lifting-handles, first reinforce cast in low relief with a further decorative band of scrollwork, an expanded flower-head, a crescent moon and a small flower-head along the top and engraved on each side with a dragon, pierced vent, turned base-ring, and cascable cast with an expanded flower-head and with rounded button, on brass- and iron-mounted wooden field carriage, almost certainly original, with wood-spoked wheels 20½in. (52cm.) barrel
