(A) BRITISH MARTINI HENRY MK II SINGLE SHOT RIFLE.

British Enfield Martini Henry Mk II single shot rifle. Made circa 1870s. No maker's name is visible on the frame. A "(Crown) / MK II" is visible on the left side of the frame. No import or Nepalese marks found. Matching serials on the frame, barrel, stock, and forestock. Other parts do not match or are not numbered. British proofs throughout. Front band has its proper bayonet lug. Round barrel with a blade front sight with a fixed position U-notch rear. Metal components were refinished at some point. Oil finished wood stock and front wood. Smooth metal buttplate. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its reapplied finishes with grey patina forming in most areas. There is some minor pitting at the stock line. Stock has dings, scratches, and handling marks. The right side of the butt has a 6" surface crack, in addition to a 4" on the left side. There is a large gouge on the right side of the forearm. Bore is clean overall with sharp rifling. Mechanically fine.
