Turner was Dean of Wells, a physician and naturalist. His support of the Reformation led to his exile on two occasions, which explains the printing of the second part of his herbal in Cologne. Provenance: 'James Baldwin, July the 9th, 1675' and 'James Baldwin, His Booke, March 31 1692' (ink inscriptions to front free endpaper).
