Comprising of a long sleeve bodice with pleating detail to the neck opening, with covered front button fastening and a full skirt, with tight cartridge pleats to the back, circa 1860; together with purple dress of a similar period, with lace decoration to collar and cuffs, the bodice is of a jacket tail-coat styling, with a turned back half collar and covered buttons fastening at center front with further decoration to skirt in a military styling, with bands of applied silk stripes; both have some discolouration with age.
