A 19th century French gilt-metal and porcelain French 19th century mantel clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell with an outside countwheel, the backplate stamped with the serial number 14837, the blue porcelain dial having black Roman hour numerals, gilt-brass hands and with floral painted decoration to the centre, with a matching shaped panel set below, the shaped gilt-metal case with applied mouldings, shaped base, scroll feet, female-head side handles and surmounted by a blue porcelain urn with gilt-metal finial, the rear stamped with the casemaker's name Raunfaut, complete with ebonised base and shaped dome, height 31cm, 37.5cm including base and dome.
