Cylindrical form, a hinged convex cover with stepped plain central panel and embossed decorative border above a wide polished rim, opening to reveal a gilt interior, to the top a large spherical thumbpiece, a C-scroll handle beneath with central beading terminating in a shield, the whole in silver and gilt, high and low relief repoussé and chased Baroque style floral and foliate motifs to the body, all on three ball feet, height 23cm, diameter 16cm, weight 37oz.
