Beschreibung:

A 15CT GOLD OPAL AND DEMANTOID GARNET NECKLACE the largest opal measures 10.5mm x 7.1mm x 2.27mm, smallest 5mm x 3.5mm x 1.4mm, length of the necklace 46cm, weight 15.8gms
15ct gold was only produced between 1854 and 1931, this necklace is made with a Victorian style of settings so I would make it circa last quarter of the 19th century. Classic horsetail inclusions can be found in some of the garnets, the opal are bright and lively, with no chips or cracks. All the stones are in cut back settings, stamped 15c to the clasp, with 18ct safety chain & clasp. As pointed out the second image shows a random 'Blue stone' this is blue tac to mark the best stone for horsehair inclusions, it shouldn't have been there and I missed it when I photographed it.
