PURDEY, No. 13962, 'D Quality', treble-grip action, intercepting safes, best foliate-scroll engraving, brushed and reblued finish, well-figured stock with recoil-pad, the replacement barrels by another, with scroll-engraved breech-ends Weight 8lb. 10oz., 14 3/8in. pull, 30in. barrels, approx. 5/8 & ¾ choke, 3in. chambers, nitro proof (for maximum service loads of 1½oz.) With its original 10-bore (3½in.) barrels, with re-engraved breech-ends Weight 9lb. 1½oz., 31 1/8in. barrels, both approx. ¾ choke, 3½in. chambers, nitro reproof The whole in a brass-mounted oak and leather double-guncase with Purdey trade label The gun was completed circa 1891
