Deventer, Rykert Paffroedt, 1492, 197 (of 200) leaves, printed in Gothic type, 18 lines to the page, CONTEMPORARY HANDCOLOURED woodcuts of the Holy Mother with the child (repeated three times) and of the rosary, 19 manuscript decorated initials (3-5 lines, in red, yellow and green, extending in the margin), large number of manuscript capitals in red, rubricated throughout, 17th cent. overlapping vellum, sm. 8vo.[*] - Lacks 3 leaves: the blank leaves 32 and 200 and leaf 33, the subtitle for Onser liever vrouwen salter with woodcut and the same woodcut on verso. A few small and vague waterstains in blank margin. A (very) fine copy. = Campbell 330; IDL 1436; ILC 649; GW 7839; HC 5751; Oates 3503; Proctor 9002; BMC IX 55. Very rare incunable, only 6 copies known in public collections. Provenance: from the Schretlen collection of incunabula, sold by auction by M. Hertzberger, Amst., 1930, no. 105. Otherwise we could not trace any copy on the market. Cat.
