Collection containing ±75 (fold.) letterpress pamphlets and ordinances concerning the "Pachtersoproer" in 1748, various sizes and publishers, all Amst./ Leeuw./ Gron., bound together in contemp. calf w. richly gilt spine and mor. letterpiece, gilt boardedges, folio. - Occas. yellowed/ browned/ foxed. Binding trifle worn. = Interesting collection concerning the uproar that started in Groningen in March 1748. The origin of the revolt lies in the economic malaise in the forties of the eighteenth century. The revolts spread to Leeuwarden, Amsterdam, Haarlem and Leyden. Containing i.a. "Kort verhaal van het voorgevallene den 28. Juny 1748 op den Dam te Amsterdam, dienende te gelyk tot ene uitlegging van de onderstaande plaat" (with large woodcut. F.M. 3938a; Knuttel 17909); "Patriotischen yver of Burger-Groete aan (...) den Prins van Oranje (...)
