MOREAU, contemp. red mor., gilt triple fillet around both covers, richly gilt ribbed spine, gilt boardedges and inside dentelles, a.e.g., 93x64 mm. - First few lvs. sl. foxed; title some very vague folds; bookplate on upper pastedown. Lower joint trifle splitting. Good/ fine copy. = Welsh 1896; Spielmann 94; Nauroy p.35; Brunet II, p.22. Large paper copy, printed on light-blue paper (frontisp. on off-white paper), thus theoretically exceeding the size of a miniature book. Because of the 4½ point it is printed in and because of the size of the printing area (each page within a typographical border of 62x37 mm.) justly included in all biographies. Cf. Bondy p.24 (on Cicero's Cato Majo, publ. by Barbou in 1771): "(...) this title again exceeds our maximum size; but no rule can be without exceptions and we must strongly advise collectors to include this volume if they are lucky enough to find it."
