first bayonet is an 1835-1842 model with 18" blade and overall length 21". Second bayonet is a 55-70 bayonet, 15" blade and overall length 18". Third bayonet 55-70 bayonet 17.5" blade and 21" overall length. The fourth bayonet is a Model 1862 Hewes and Phillips conversion bayonet. Blade length is 17.9", overall length is 21". Provenance: Property of the former First National Bank of Fremont, Indiana Condition: First bayonet stamped with inspector's initials TP. Bayonet is smooth and brown in color showing some oil and grease stains to the metal and original burnish lines are evident on the face of the bayonet. Base also marked with an encircled H and with WW. Clasp screw is a replacement. Second bayonet covered with pitting and is gunmetal grey and lacking clasp and clasp screw. Third bayonet has been re-blued. The fourth bayonet is covered in a dark brown rust froth. Blade could be cleaned, however pitting would still be visible.
