.52 caliber smoothbore, 21" barrel, breech region stamped U.S. S. North Midltn., Conn 1841. Faint inspector's cartouche on left cheek region. Complete with cleaning rod, slide bar and swivel ring. Referred to as the "Fishtail" model because of the shape of the breech release lever. Provenance: Property of the former First National Bank of Fremont, Indiana Condition: Barrel and action cleaned to a bright grey showing salt and pepper pitting on receiver and barrel. Breechblock and hammer have blackened. Walnut stock is void of oil finish and has been lightly cleaned. Cartouches are faint. 2" crack in the wood in trigger guard region.
