.44 caliber, 6" barrel, serial number 8764. Right side of frame stamped Starr's Patent Jan. 16, 1856. Left side of frame stamped Starr Arms Co, New York. A note accompanying the firearm reads Jake Clemans, Barron, Wisconsin used by his father in the Civil War. Provenance: Property of the former First National Bank of Fremont, Indiana Condition: Entire gun covered with a light scaly oxidation and dark brown patinated look. Grips are scuffed with some lines along bottom edges. Mechanically not functional and possibly needs a replacement trigger spring.
