.45 caliber, serial number 131868, 5.5" barrel stamped Colts PT FA MFG & Co. Hartford, CT. USA with respective patent dates. Left side of barrel stamped Colt D.A. 45. Walnut grips with butt strap stamped U.S. Army Model 1917. According to Springfield Research Service this revolver is listed 10/9/1926 with disposal record. Clearly an oversight by Uncle Sam. Provenance: Property of the former First National Bank of Fremont, Indiana Condition: Revolver retains ca 95% original blue. The original polish lines are visible under the blue - which gives it a new look. It has some light staining on the right side where a region has begun to oxidize and has stained the finish. The mild oxidation has proceeded down the backstrap on the outer edge of the cylinder. Otherwise like new.
