A 19th century triple weight Vienna regulator by Ludwig Hainz, Prague. The walnut case with satinwood stringing to the case and backboard and is mounted with cast iron gilded mounts, including a crown to the top of the pediment which can be seen to represent the crown of the Virgin Mary. This echoes the cast iron depiction of the Ascension found in the bottom recess of the clock. The white enamel face has Roman numerals, maker's name and gilt bevel. The three-train movement strikes on a double gong with quarter repeater pull-chord. 116 x 31 cm (not including cast-iron pediment mount).
