Title: 3 Items From the Collection of Hobart Bosworth, Including Jack London Autograph Manuscript Author: London, Jack Place: Publisher: Date: Description: Comprising: Manuscript headed "Burglar" with 11 lines in pencil in Jack London's hand; 8x6, lined paper. 1 vintage silver print photograph by Arnold Genthe; approximately 7x9; with autograph presentation inscription from Charmian London double window matted, framed, and glazed. Printed promotional pamphlet for Bosworth, Inc. Presents John Barleycorn at the New O'Neill Theatre, 8x11, printed both sides in red and black, center folded. Hobart Bosworth was the actor and film maker who contracted with Jack London in 1913 to make movies from London's stories. Bosworth himself played the part of Wolf Larson in his 1913 production of "The Sea Wolf." The Manuscript headed "Burglar" appears to be a story idea hastily scribbled, London's autograph clipped from another document pasted at bottom of sheet. Photo with Jack London's rubber-stamp signature at lower right, framed with autograph presentation from Charmian London to Hobart Bosworth: "By request of Hobart Bosworth, Best wishes, Charmian London." Hobart Bosworth was the actor and film maker who contracted with Jack London in 1913 to make movies from London's stories. Bosworth himself played the part of Wolf Larson in his 1913 production of "The Sea Wolf." He released "John Barleycorn" in 1914. Lot Amendments Condition: Manuscript quite chipped with missing portions in-filled with archival tissue, apparent loss of 1 word; photo apparently very good - not examined out of frame; "Bosworth Inc. Presents" with short tears at top of rear panel near center fold, very small loss of material. Item number: 193070
