4.0-Liter DOHC Twin-Turbo V8 Engine Electronic Direct Fuel Injection 814hp at 7,250rpm 7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission Independent Front and Rear Suspension 4-Wheel Carbon Ceramic Disc Brakes *The 21st example of just 75 to ever be created *Fewer than 50 miles on the odometer *The fastest publicly available McLaren around a track *Low weight, high downforce, immense power – A true engineering marvel THE McLAREN SENNA GTR The name Senna conjures many connotations. Ayrton was one of the great sporting legends of the 20th century, supported by legions in his home country of Brazil. Cool, collected, and focused, the Formula 1 star has been widely regarded as the greatest racer of all time and the fastest on any racetrack. A car bearing his name must be imbued with the very same qualities, and for McLarens 3rd offering in the Ultimate Series, the team at Woking sought to create a road legal vehicle with the singular focus of delivering the quickest lap time possible. Bucking the trend of hybrid power, the Senna is free from the cumbersome weight of batteries and instead relies solely on the power of exploding gasoline and reciprocating pistons. The M840TR in the back of this hypercar features a bumped-up displacement of 4.0 liters compared to its predecessors and is boosted by highly advanced electronically actuated twin scroll turbos. All very fitting considering Ayrtons first championship was won behind the wheel of the twin turbo Honda powered MP4/4. The McLaren feeds all 789 of its horses through a twin clutch transmission out to the rear wheels and delivers zero to sixty runs in a scant 2.8 seconds. Speed and power however are a common commodity these days. It is with braking and handling where the Senna charges forward. Almost 1800lbs of downforce is generated at speed by the summation of the aerodynamic surfaces. While the exterior styling can be described as divisive, there is no dissent to the fact that all of the various elements serve the explicit purpose of channeling the airflow around and even through the car. Hypercars are themselves hyperbolic in nature, and the Senna follows suit by sporting quite possibly the largest rear wing to grace the backside of a road legal automobile. With all of this air wrangled under the will of the aerofoils, it should come as no surprise that the braking forces delivered by the McLaren are immense. In conjunction with the Formula 1 derived 390mm carbon ceramic brakes all around, the Senna holds the record stopping distance from 200kph at just 100 meters- Truly a staggering feat. A complete carbon construction has further aided in keeping the weight down to just around 2,800lbs. Altogether, the Senna is a thoroughly responsive driver's delight. Calling back to the original F1 GTR of the 1990s, McLaren has made an effort to follow in the footsteps of their original supercar by offering fully kitted out track only versions for those customers looking for even greater performance. The Senna GTR takes everything good about the road car and ramps up each quality to its most extreme. It is the fastest McLaren available to the public around any track- only Woking's Formula 1 cars are quicker. The GTR is stripped out, wider, and more powerful. Of immediate note is the increase in aerodynamic devices plastered all around the body. Without performance limiting FIA regulations, McLaren is allowed to throw all of their technical know-how at the vehicle to deliver 2,200lbs of downforce at 155mph. This is achieved by even larger splitters, winglets, canards, and active devices both at the front and rear. Of course, the engine has been massaged to deliver a reasonable amount of additional power to 814hp, all while being burdened by less weight. After removing the comfort features of the road car, the GTR comes in at just 2619lbs dry. On the chassis front, the immense brakes of the road car are retained, however a new pad material is used which is more suited to the demands of high-speed track drivin
