Description Mercedes-Benz introduced the W123 four-door versions on 29 January 1976. While there were some technical similarities to their predecessors, the new models were larger in wheelbase and exterior dimensions. The styling was also updated, although stylistic links with the W114 / W115 were maintained. Initially, all models except 280/280E featured quad unequal-size round headlights and the latter large rectangular units. When facelifted, these units became standard across the range. The estates were produced between 1980 and 1985 and ranged from 2 to 3 litre engines, and featured a strengthened rear chassis and self-levelling rear suspension. COYS are delighted to present this highly desirable W123 Mercedes 230TE with only 88,190 miles from new. Very few exist in good condition today, as a result of many W123 T series wagons being used for commercial reasons. Finished in Champagne Metallic with Beige Cloth, the current owner notes the vehicle as excellent condition throughout. This model is a desirable specification with automatic transmission, PAS, sunroof, chrome roof bars, Blaupunkt period radio, 7 seats (very rare indeed) and a detailed history folder. Previously sold by specialists Avantgarde Classics, Charles Ironside and the Mercedes specialist John Haynes W123 estate cars are fast appreciating and becoming increasingly rare to find especially in this condition, with few being seen on today’s roads.
