1985 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL par Koenig-Specials Carte grise française Châssis n° WDB1260371A163468 - Rare exemplaire équipé de la face avant de SEC - Configuration sensationnelle - Historique limpide - Certifiée par Koenig-Specials Koenig-Specials a été fondé par le pilote Willy König en 1977 à Munich. Après l'achat de sa Ferrari 365 BB en 1974, König n'était pas satisfait de ses performances et la prépara pour obtenir la voiture de course ultime homologuée pour la route. Après s'être consacré exclusivement aux Ferrari, König s'attaque aux Mercedes en proposant des versions très élargies inspirées des Testarossa. Notre 500 SEL a été livrée neuve le 19 mai 1985 et c'est durant l'été 1986 qu'elle fut convertie par Koenig-Specials, certifié par Koenig. Elle connut quatre propriétaires en Allemagne entre 1992 et 1997. Le 16 juillet 1997, le concessionnaire Autohaus Pinl en Allemagne, vend cette " Daimler Benz 500 SEL König-Umbau " à un collectionneur français ; elle avait alors 136 000 km. Son nouveau propriétaire l'immatricule, non sans mal, en France après avoir échangés quelques fax avec Koenig sur les modifications, notamment sur les dimensions des pneumatiques. Il obtient le précieux document en avril 1998 et parcourt moins de 60 000 km depuis. Cette impressionnante préparation est spectaculaire. Sa face avant de SEC élargie avec ses ailes musclées, son pare-chocs estampillé Koenig, son profil souligné par des ailes sculpturales ciselées à l'arrière, rappelant les Testarossa, tout est merveilleusement démesuré. La ligne se prolonge sur le spoiler de malle arrière surplombant la triple sortie d'échappement qui permet d'entendre le son guttural du V8. L'habitacle est aussi stupéfiant que la carrosserie : l'ensemble des équaliseurs, typique des années 80, le rouge omniprésent de son habitacle, le compteur de vitesse gradué jusqu'à 300 km/h… Bref, la parfaite berline du père de famille pressé, fan de cette époque de liberté que nous offrait les années 80 ! After initially devoting himself exclusively to Ferrari, König turned his attention to Mercedes and started offering widened versions inspired by the Testarossa. Our 500 SEL was delivered new on 19 May 1985 and during summer 1986, converted by Koenig-Specials, as certified by Koenig. It had four owners in Germany between 1992 and 1997. On 16 July 1997, the dealer Autohaus Pinl In Germany sold this " Daimler Benz 500 SEL König-Umbau " to a French collector; it had a mileage then of 136 000 km. The car's new owner registered it in France, not without some difficulty, having exchanged several faxes with Koenig about the modifications, notably on the dimensions of the tyres. He obtained the precious document in April 1998 and has covered under 60 000 km since. The impressive preparation of this car is spectacular. The widened SEC front end with muscular wheel arches, the Koenig-stamped bumpers, the profile accentuated by sculpturally-carved rear wings reminiscent of the Testarossa. Everything is wonderfully excessive. The shape extends to the rear boot spoiler overhanging the triple exhaust outlet which allows us to hear the guttural sound of the V8 engine. The passenger compartment is as stunning as the bodywork : the set of equalizers, typical of the 1980s, red omnipresent inside, the speedometer graduated to 300 km/h… In short, the perfect vehicle for a family man in a hurry, with a taste for the era of freedom the 80s offered us !
