Classic Car Auctions says: A fast road Mk.1 Golf GTI with 8,400 miles... Coming from a small private collection, this very low mileage Golf Mk1 started its life as a standard car from South Hereford VW. Believed to have been manufactured in 1983, this 1.6 was originally finished in White but is now a distinctive shade of Yellow, and was later modified and turned into a fast road / track day car. By the time of the sale, we hope to have a bit more information on the modifications to the car's engine, suspension, and brakes. It's fitted with a pair of Sparco seats with full harnesses, a roll cage, an alloy tank, and a plumbed in Fire Extinguisher system. The car has only been used sparingly over recent years and has not been near a circuit for a while, so whilst it will have a fresh MoT for the sale, all the safety equipment will have to be reinspected and dated before any track-day use. A lot of fun for a modest outlay.
