This Aston Martin V8 came into the present owner's possession in June 2001 and in August that same year was extensively renovated at Aston Martin Works Service. The work undertaken at that time included chassis repairs/modifications, suspension overhaul and installing Koni shock absorbers at the rear at a total cost of more than £8,000 (invoice on file). In 2002 the engine was rebuilt to 6.0-litre specification, but the work was deemed unsatisfactory and the engine was rebuilt again in June 2003 as part of the resulting insurance claim, on this occasion by Aston Martin specialists Davron, of Dinton near Salisbury, Wiltshire, whose invoices totalling in excess of £20,000 are available for inspection. Also included in the accompanying extensive history file are the previous (1983-'99) owner's detailed service records and MoTs dating back to 1984. The cylinder heads were converted to un-leaded compatibility as part of the engine rebuild, while additional enhancements include a stainless-steel exhaust system, Vantage-style front air dam and up-graded alternator. Davron converted the hubs to accept the BBS wheels currently fitted and overhauled the front brakes in November 2002, and the following month repaired the door bottoms, renovated the seat belts, and fitted an alarm, CD stacker, new speakers, central locking and high-power headlights. The car benefits from a recent (April 2004) service by Davron, and all relevant invoices for their work are on file. Finished in Burgundy with grey/black leather interior, the latter recently re-carpeted and Dynamat sound proofed, 'VUB 819M' is presented in generally sound condition and offered with sundry invoices, road fund licence/MoT to July 2004 and Swansea V5 registration document.
