1974 3-LITRE PORSCHE 911/935 SPORTS COUPE Registration No. LSU 935 (UK) Chassis No. 9114100923 Engine No. 6302455 Red with black interior Engine; flat six cylinder, 2,993cc, 204bhp at 6,200rpm; Gearbox; five speed manual; Brakes; discs all round; Suspension; front, independent Macpherson telescopic damper struts, lower wishbones, longitudinal torsion bars; rear, independent, trailing radius arms, transverse torsion bars, telescopic dampers. Right hand drive. Ferdinand Porsche started to manufacture his own cars in the late 1940s. However his earlier design work included Lohner, Austro-Daimler, Steyr and Mercedes as well as the Auto Union racers and the Volkswagen. In 1964 using a new six cylinder engine, the 911 road car was launched and was so successful, the developed version continues to be made today. This example is an intriguing example of 911 exhibitionism. The car started life as a standard 911 and has had new coachwork designed by the German specialists Strosek Auto Design, fitted to resemble one of the ultimate racing 911s, the 935. The conversion was carried out in England by Banus Motorsports of Basingstoke during 1989. Only three such conversions were carried out in the UK. Most of the new coachwork is fibreglass and the effect is quite stunning with a huge rear spoiler, long flat front bonnet, vented and flared wheel arches and Fuchs style wheels with enormous 205 245 P700 tyres. The mechanical specification is also uprated and the present owner confirms that Banus Motorport also fitted a fully rebuilt 3-litre engine with tension uprate giving 204bhp. It also has a five speed manual gearbox fitted. The interior has Recaro style front seats and two small rear seats which are in fair condition. There is also an electric sunroof. The MoT was renewed in December. Certainly a vehicle to cause a stir with genuine 911 thoroughbred power and handling to support its dramatic looks. No Reserve
