The NSU Prima’s name is a nod in the direction of its Lambretta origins, albeit a Lambretta re-engineered to German standards of equipment and build quality. The Prima ran through five series before an almost complete re-design as the Prima V with smoother bodywork, a 12-volt system with electric start and a more powerful 174cc motor. Sold in the UK as the Prima Five Star’, it was an expensive and well-respected scooter. The museum’s example, in good original condition, was put on display in 1980 and has just 14720 km. showing. With its characteristic twin seats it is complete with spot-lamp, spare wheel and carrier assembly and, following re-commissioning, will provide an excellent example of the 50’s luxury
