Beschreibung:

A new 650cc twin joined BSA’s 500cc A7 model in 1949, the latter’s engine being revised along the lines of the new design at the same time. The existing parallel twin architecture was retained for the new A10, with 360-degree crankshaft and single camshaft at the rear of the cylinder block, as was the four-speed gearbox bolted directly to the crankcase in a form of semi-unit construction, and the tele-fork-and-plunger cycle parts. Named ‘Golden Flash’, the new 650 was strikingly finished in pale beige metallic. The model was up-dated with swinging-arm frame and separate gearbox for 1955 and continued in production until 1962. The sturdy Golden Flash was one of the sidecar fraternity’s favourite mounts and this example is hitched to a Swallow Jet 80 single-seat sports ‘chair’ dating from circa 1950. Originally registered ‘917 RKN’, the machine was reregistered ‘TSU 870’ in 1989 and restored, sidecar included, in 1998 while in previous ownership. Expired MoTs on file suggest that it has covered only 7,000-or-so miles since restoration. Carried out within the last 100 miles, recent work has included fitting a new front tyre, brake linings, return springs and cable; throttle cable; steering damper friction disc; and air filter joint. Described by the current vendor as in generally very good condition, the machine is offered with DVLA post-1989 owners’ list; sundry restoration invoices; current MoT/road fund licence; Swansea V5 registration documents; instruction manual; parts list; Haynes workshop manual; original BSA wall chart and many other documents.
