Beschreibung:

Norton's ubiquitous Featherbed frame has long been the special-builder's friend, proving versatile enough to accommodate power units of all kinds ranging from the humble British single up to relatively modern Japanese fours and even the occasional car engine. This particular frame started life in a 1958 Dominator 99 and has been given a considerable performance boost in the shape of a tuned Norton Commando engine. Notes on file list the latter's specification as follows: balanced and polished crankshaft; Superblend main bearings; American short-track racing cam and followers; shortened push rods; shot-peened con-rods; re-bored cylinders (honed); 10.5:1 pistons; cylinder head reworked, polished, gas-flowed and ported; big valve conversion; phosphor-bronze valve seats and valve guides; polished and lightened rocker gear; radial oil ways on rocker spindles; W&S valve springs; and alloy valve collars. Other noteworthy features include Boyer electronic ignition, alloy wheel rims, 4LS front brake, central oil tank, Amal Concentric carburettors, matching Smiths speedometer/tachometer, clip-on handlebars, rear-set footrests and 'Goldie'-type silencers. The current owner bought the machine from Bol D'Or Classics Ltd of Worthing, Surrey in September 1985 (purchase receipt on file). Currently displaying a total of 193 miles on the odometer, '303 DFC' is offered with its original logbook, RGM Norton Spares catalogue, old-style Swansea V5 and two expired MoTs (most recent 1996).
